Juan Barberis
Juan specialises in Agile, Scrum, XP, Lean and Kanban as a practioner, coach and trainer.
He has over 20 years' experience with Lean, Agile and Kanban. His educational journey started in California in the early 90s with Apple and UNIX system software development. In the late 90s he was involved in Web development under the Microsoft Solutions Framework at a progressive Microsoft Consultancy in California. He was then recruited by Dell Corporation to lead Internet initiatives such as online diagnostics and web hosting at headquarters in Austin, Texas. Since 2002 he has worked as a trusted consultant with both large and small organisations in the finance, health care and ICT sectors worldwide, and last year was invited to facilitate the "Evolution of Agile" workshop for experienced practitioners at the 2011 Agile Tour in Sydney.
As an experienced business and IT consultant, Juan teaches based on his past roles as International Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Project Manager, Product Owner and Business Analyst. He teaches his clients how to minimize risk and maximize ROI based on the lessons he has learned over two decades - both from his successes and his failures - and leveraging the most effective techniques and tools available depending on the situation.
Juan has an extensive international background having worked in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia since the early 90s. He communicates fluently in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and has a basic understanding of Dutch - a challenging language for a Latin American.
He enjoys conducting business in Australia and New Zealand and relies on his forward-looking approach to teach and inspire Software Education's clients towards evaluating Agile, Scrum, Kanban, XP and Lean in their organisations.
